SoundToneCoach Privacy Policy

Summary

• Core tone analysis runs on your device using the app's bundled machine-learning models. We do not send your voice or audio to third-party AI cloud APIs (or PulseCortex-operated servers) for that analysis.
• No account is required to use recording and analysis. Optional Sign in with Apple can enable iCloud sync of your history across your devices.
• Optional on-device speech transcription can show text from your audio; it is not sent to PulseCortex.
• We do not use your data for third-party advertising or sell your personal information as described in this policy.

Information the app uses

Microphone and voice recordings

When you record, the app uses the microphone to capture audio. Audio is used to play back your clip, run on-device tone analysis, show results, and (if enabled) save sessions to history. You can turn history off or delete data in Settings.

Analysis results and history

Emotion labels, delivery scores, tips, and session metadata are produced on device for core processing. If you enable history, that information is stored locally (and may sync via iCloud as described below); it is not uploaded to PulseCortex-operated servers or to third-party AI services for remote inference.

Optional speech recognition

If you allow Speech Recognition, the system may produce a transcript on device to display with your results. That processing uses Apple's speech APIs; we do not receive your transcript on PulseCortex servers for this feature.

Optional Sign in with Apple and iCloud (CloudKit)

If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple provides an account identifier used with Apple's iCloud services so that synced session/history data can be stored in your CloudKit container tied to your Apple ID. PulseCortex does not use this to sell your data or to run ads. Sync is optional; you can use the app without signing in.

Import and Share

If you open audio from other apps (for example via Share or Files), that audio is handled like other recordings for analysis on device and is not sent to PulseCortex for cloud processing as described above.

In-app preferences

Settings (for example history retention and optional product-improvement-related preferences) are stored on your device. We do not operate a separate PulseCortex login or email password for SoundToneCoach in the current app.

What we do not do

We do not:

• Sell your personal information.
• Use your voice or analysis for cross-app tracking across other companies' apps or websites for advertising (the app does not use third-party ad/analytics SDKs for that purpose as shipped).
• Require you to create a PulseCortex email account to use the core features.

Your choices

• Guest use: You can tap Continue as Guest and use core features without Sign in with Apple.
• Sign out: If you signed in with Apple, you can sign out from Settings (your local data remains on the device unless you delete it).
• Delete account: If you signed in with Apple, you can use Delete account in Settings to remove the Sign in with Apple link on this device, reset certain local preferences tied to that choice, and delete all session history and audio (including data that syncs through iCloud for this app when applicable). This is separate from only deleting local files or signing out.
• History: Turn history off, delete all, or adjust retention in Settings where available.
• Permissions: Revoke Microphone or Speech Recognition in Settings → SoundToneCoach (or system Privacy settings) at any time.
• Uninstall: Removing the app deletes local app data on the device; iCloud data follows Apple's rules for your Apple ID.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a way that violates COPPA. If you are a parent and have concerns, contact us using the information below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy where permitted by law.
